1 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the CompareTextly website, its text comparison functionality, and related website content. Please review these terms before using the website.

By accessing or using CompareTextly, you indicate your acceptance of these terms to the extent that such acceptance is enforceable under applicable law. If you do not agree with these terms, you should discontinue your use of the website and its services.

2 Description of Services

CompareTextly provides an online text comparison tool that allows users to submit an original version and a revised version of text for the purpose of reviewing differences between them.

The service may be used for productivity tasks including:

  • Comparing written drafts and edited passages.
  • Reviewing content changes and text revisions.
  • Examining technical text and software documentation.
  • Comparing website content or other text-based materials.
  • Identifying differences between two versions of text.

CompareTextly is a comparison utility. Its output is intended to assist review and should not be assumed to identify every meaningful, technical, or contextual difference.

3 Eligibility and Access

You may use CompareTextly only in a manner consistent with applicable laws, these Terms of Use, and the rights of others. You are responsible for determining whether your use of the website is lawful and appropriate in your circumstances.

The currently available homepage text comparison tool can be accessed without purchasing a paid subscription. These terms do not impose an unverified minimum age requirement or state that account registration is mandatory. Where applicable law limits a person's ability to use an online service independently, that law continues to apply.

4 Acceptable Use

You may use CompareTextly for legitimate text comparison activities, provided that your use complies with applicable law and respects the rights of other people and organizations.

Appropriate uses may include:

  • Personal writing review.
  • Academic text comparison conducted in accordance with applicable rules.
  • Editing and proofreading workflows.
  • Software documentation review.
  • Website content comparison.
  • Professional text revision tasks.

You remain responsible for the purpose, context, and consequences of your use, including compliance with confidentiality, copyright, academic integrity, and contractual obligations that apply to your material.

5 Prohibited Activities

You must not use or attempt to use CompareTextly to:

  • Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive activity.
  • Gain unauthorized access to the website, its systems, or related infrastructure.
  • Disrupt, overload, damage, or interfere with the website's operation.
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute malware, malicious code, or harmful instructions.
  • Probe or exploit vulnerabilities without prior authorization.
  • Send automated requests at a volume or frequency that disrupts the service.
  • Circumvent technical restrictions or access controls.
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other legal rights.
  • Misrepresent your identity in communications with CompareTextly.
  • Use the service in a way that could harm its infrastructure or other users.

6 User Content and Responsibilities

You are responsible for all text and other material you submit to the comparison tool. You should have the rights, authorization, or other lawful basis necessary to use that material.

You retain ownership of your original content to the extent that you hold those rights. CompareTextly does not obtain ownership of your submitted text merely because you use the service.

To the limited extent necessary to operate the tool, you permit the technical processing of submitted text for the requested comparison. This limited permission does not authorize unrelated commercial reuse of your content.

Avoid entering sensitive or confidential information unless you understand the applicable data-handling practices. Review important comparison results yourself, because automated output may require human verification.

7 Intellectual Property Rights

The CompareTextly name, branding, original interface design, software components, graphics, and original website content may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Except as permitted by applicable law or authorized in writing, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or create derivative works from protected website materials in a manner that infringes the rights of their lawful owner.

These provisions apply to website-owned or licensed materials and do not transfer ownership of user-submitted text to CompareTextly. No statement in these terms represents that a particular trademark, patent, or copyright registration exists.

8 Service Availability and Modifications

CompareTextly's functionality may change over time due to maintenance, technical updates, feature improvements, compatibility changes, security needs, or reasonable operational restrictions.

Access may occasionally be interrupted, delayed, limited, or unavailable. No uninterrupted-access guarantee or service-level commitment is made through these general Terms of Use.

Where a material service change requires notice or another action under applicable law, CompareTextly will address the change in accordance with those requirements.

9 Free and Paid Services

Free access

CompareTextly currently provides access to its standard homepage text comparison tool free of charge. Users can access the available tool without purchasing a paid subscription.

Pro service descriptions

The website may describe a proposed Pro option. Unless and until a Pro plan is formally launched with verified commercial terms and a functioning purchase process, references to proposed advanced functionality do not constitute a currently available paid service or an offer capable of acceptance.

These terms do not establish subscription prices, billing cycles, automatic renewals, free trials, refunds, cancellation procedures, or payment-provider terms.

Custom inquiries

Organizations may contact CompareTextly to discuss specialized requirements. Submitting or responding to a Custom inquiry does not automatically create a service contract, require either party to proceed, or guarantee that a requested service will be delivered.

Binding paid-service provisions should be added only when the relevant plans, checkout process, billing arrangements, and commercial policies have been established. Separately negotiated Custom services may be governed by a written agreement between the relevant parties.

10 Third-Party Services and Links

CompareTextly may contain links to external websites or rely on third-party technical services that support website operation. External websites and services may have their own terms, privacy practices, and operating policies.

A link does not necessarily mean that CompareTextly controls, endorses, or assumes responsibility for external content. You should review the terms that apply before using a third-party service. Responsibility for third-party services remains subject to applicable law and any relevant contractual arrangements.

11 Privacy and Data Handling

Information associated with your use of CompareTextly is addressed in the CompareTextly Privacy Policy. Please review that policy for information about relevant privacy practices.

Depending on how the website operates and how you use it, relevant information may include user-submitted text, information provided through contact inquiries, and website-related technical information.

These Terms of Use do not make additional guarantees about browser-only processing, server transmission, storage periods, automatic deletion, encryption, or compliance certifications. The Privacy Policy should be consulted for the applicable, current data-handling information.

12 Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CompareTextly and its functionality are provided on an “as available” basis, subject to any express commitments that may apply. The comparison service may not always be uninterrupted, compatible with every device or input, or free from errors.

Comparison results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or affected by formatting, encoding, input errors, browser behavior, or technical limitations. You should independently verify changes that are important to your work.

CompareTextly is a productivity utility and is not a substitute for legal, academic, editorial, technical, security, or other professional review where such review is appropriate. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CompareTextly will not be responsible for losses caused solely by unreasonable reliance on unverified comparison results, user data-entry errors, misuse of the service, or technical compatibility issues outside its reasonable control.

Service interruptions or inaccurate or incomplete outputs may affect a user's workflow. Users should maintain appropriate copies of important material and perform any verification reasonably required for their intended purpose.

These limitations do not exclude or restrict liability where doing so would be unlawful. Applicable consumer protections and other non-excludable legal rights remain unaffected. No specific monetary liability cap is created by these terms.

14 Indemnification

To the extent enforceable under applicable law, you may be responsible for reasonable claims, losses, or costs directly resulting from your unlawful use of CompareTextly, your infringement of another party's rights, or your serious breach of these terms.

This provision does not require reimbursement for losses that were not reasonably connected to your conduct, were caused by CompareTextly, or cannot lawfully be allocated to you. Any obligation will remain subject to applicable legal defenses, procedural rights, and proportionality requirements.

15 Suspension and Termination

CompareTextly may reasonably restrict or block access to the website when necessary to respond to abuse, security threats, unlawful activity, serious violations of these terms, or harmful interference with the website or its users.

Restrictions should be proportionate to the circumstances where reasonably practical. Because these terms do not assume that user accounts exist, references to restricting website access should not be interpreted as account termination. If registered accounts are introduced, account-specific termination provisions should be provided separately or added to these terms.

16 Changes to These Terms

CompareTextly may update these Terms of Use to reflect changes in website functionality, service availability, business operations, legal requirements, or commercial offerings.

When these terms are revised, the posted revision date will be updated. You should review the current version periodically, particularly before relying on the service for an important task.

17 Governing Law and Disputes

Rights and disputes relating to these terms are governed by the laws that apply under the relevant circumstances, including any mandatory consumer protections available to you.

The responsible legal entity and governing jurisdiction for CompareTextly have not been confirmed in these terms. Accordingly, this section does not select an exclusive country, state, province, court, arbitration provider, or dispute forum, and it does not create a mandatory arbitration requirement or class-action waiver.

A specific governing-law and dispute-resolution provision should be added only after the responsible legal entity and its applicable jurisdiction have been verified. Nothing in this section prevents the application of mandatory law.

18 Severability and Entire Agreement

If a provision of these Terms of Use is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions may continue in effect to the extent legally appropriate. An unenforceable provision may be interpreted or limited only as necessary to make it enforceable where applicable law permits.

These terms describe the general conditions that apply to use of the website. A separately negotiated written agreement may govern particular Custom services and may include additional or different terms for those services.

Nothing in these Terms of Use overrides mandatory legal protections or alters a separate written agreement except to the extent that the applicable agreement expressly provides otherwise.
